What can we do to help the thames?
As there have been many concerns and consequences of flooding in the Thames, breakwaters are crucial for the protection of the homes around the Thames as well as the animals that reside near or within the Thames. We can also reduce the amount of pollution that we throw in, like any other river. For fifty years (by 2010), because of the pollution, the Thames was declared biologically dead. The river's oxygen was so low, that no animal could live and the mud seemed contaminated with pollution. But now, the Thames has 125 species of fish swimming within it's waters and birds now feed off of the animals in the water. More species like seals, dolphins, and otters also have been spotted in the Thames. (The Clean Up of the River Thames)
